2023/2024

Mowden welcomed everyone back to school in September and we hit the ground running, literally,
with our first sporting event Cross Country, this was closely followed by Tag Rugby, Y5 Basketball
Festival and Y6 Sports Hall Athletics.

Several children were selected to represent Darlington in the Tees Valley Cross Country on the back
of their performances at the Darlington Event. The Tag Rugby also produced some success for
Mowden, with the Boys A Team progressing to the finals and finishing 3 rd there overall. The Y6 Sports
Hall Athletics team also progressed through to the final, where they finished 3 rd overall.

One brilliant performance was reserved for the Y6 Boys Football team, who for the first time on
Mowden’s history not only took part in the Darlington FC National League Trophy, but they actually
won. The won a tense semi-final on penalties before a solid 3-0 win in the final clinched the trophy.
They are going forwards to represent Darlington FC, in full Darlington Strips kindly donated by the
Darlington Supporters Club, in the North East National League Finals in Stockton in early February!
