Year 5 UTC Stem Project
Mowden is proud to be working in partnership with the UTC South Durham to deliver an exciting and educational STEM Project to our Year 5 children. Over 3 sessions, the children will develop their understanding of scientific concepts through engineering by taking part in practical work both at school and at the UTC.
This week the first session involved chocolate casting in which the children were able to learn more about changing states of matter. They wore their PPE, rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into melting ice and chocolate! Based on some of the comments from the children, I think it's safe to say that they absolutely loved it!
'This is the best day of school ever!'
'I love science!'
And even... 'This is legendary!'
They are looking forward to the next session of the project in the Spring Term.
